Blogathon Canada - My turn!



Today is Ontario's day for Sew Sisters Blogathon Canada! I'm so excited to be one of the host bloggers and I have a whole list of bloggers for you to meet! First I want to tell you about a book review I did of my friends book "Modern Designs for Classic Quilts". You can read it here.

Back to Canadiana! All of the giveaway's are ioen until tonight so you have time to go back and meet all of the other province/territory bloggers! YAY for a virtual tour of Canada, WITH prizes! You can find the list with the posts that have prizes at the end of the post.

I have not tried EPP piecing yet, but I have been tempted to. It is so portable, and I have to do a lot of waiting around for kids at school and after school events, and it would give me something to do with my hands. What a great giveaway!

I am currently working on an EPP baby blocks charm quilt (diamonds) that's been going for about 20 years... The point isn't so much to finish as to have some pottable handwork nearby for whenever I need something to do! I'd like to learn how to do machine applique (properly!).

I love EPP! I don't have much for EPP supplies, just some papers and a couple needles. I would love to have a thimble and glue for basting and beeswax... so many things!
I've only done hexies and very few diamonds, but I would love to try a star with diamonds and hexies.

I have never done English Paper Piecing, so there you have it, a new skill I'd like to try. I am not fond of hand sewing, but after reading Cathi's blog (your fellow Ontario-an quilter at Quilt Obsession) I have a renewed interest in hand piecing.

I am not sure how good I would be at Hexies but I do admire the work that others have made with them. It would not be a big project if I did hexies. Did you see the lady that made one with 61,000 hexies as a bed sized quilt. That is a lot of little pieces.
