Questions for you

I've been seeing a lot online lately about people evaluation their blogs, what they want from them, direction and so on.

Since today is my third annual 25th birthday I thought I'd throw it out there to my friends.

What do you like, not like, are ambivalent about when it comes to my blog, or any kind of blog?

Am I promoting myself too much? Not sharing enough? Too much Little Bit? Want more of the scamp?

Any opinion would be appreciated. It's always been difficult for me to know what to do with my blog but I've also loved the socialization of it, and the fact that I've pushed myself and grown because of it as well. I've learned so much and grown even more, a bit too much in the pants but that's another problem.
Quilting has become my world more and more. If you want even more of me, make sure to follow me on twitter as I'm there regularly and find it much easier to have a "chat" over there than through email.

So think on it...who is CaraQuilts? What is CaraQuilts and where do we want to go from here?

I write my blogs for me so I'm always surprised when someone reads something and comments ;)

I was thinking about the same thing in my December 29 post, the sort of things that make me hit the back button...I think we are all so different in our needs and likes that there couldn't be a perfect blog! Viva la difference.

Your blog is YOUR blog and what you want on it. If it is liked it is commented on and if not, they move on. Do you want visitors? What have you noticed entices them to return and want more? For me, I want to keep my blog more about quilting but I do toss in a few bits of my life but not much. The funny thing is family who reads my blog will comment about something on there and not ask about the REST OF MY LIFE. It is a hard call. I wouldn't have known much about you if you hadn't shared as much as you have...especially your littlebit girl. :0) I guess ultimately how much are you willing to put out there for the world to see?

Don't change a thing! It's your blog-about you-that's why I follow :)

I think it's important to do what you are happy doing with a blog it's yours after all. I suppose when its attached to a business it is more important to please others (but you'll never please everybody). I've settled into the blogs I follow and if I'm not interested in a post or two I skip over it, but I keep going back to see what the blogger is up to next. Stay doing what you're happy with, we're happy is what I think I'm saying :)

Okay, I am going to be honest here... You and your blog was one of my first contacts when I started blogging, roughly a year ago. I was drawn to it because you "are real." I have loved seeing you grow and blossom and all I can say is WOW... It is so inspiring watching your career take off!
However, I miss you! You are so incredibly busy we get little of you and your life, weither it be quilting or just life in general. I miss seeing what your working on, however small it is and I do understand that a lot of what you are now doing has to be kept underwraps as to not "spoil" the reveal. I also, miss hearing the occassional update on "little bit" however, as a parent I totally respect you not wanting to exploit her and you and your family deserve that privacy.

In other words, stay the way you are "real" although it would be nice to see a little bit more of what your doing!

I am with Terry too. Dont change a thing Cara. If people dont like what you write they dont have to read it. Its that simple. I love your blog and will keep coming back :)

Cara,
I am with all of the other ladies that have commented about your blog. I blog about the things I feel comfortable sharing about my life and try to include some quilt content because that was why I started the blog.
My hope is that others will find it interesting but that is purely a subjective thing. I know that I get some traffic and have people who regularly comment. I am sure that all the above is true for yourself.
You have a lovely blog and I can see you developing confidence in yourself. You are a talented quilter and sharing those talents with others.
Write about the things you feel comfortable sharing and celebrate your talents. You have much to celebrate!
Happy Birthday!
Warmest regards,
Anna

I have become a follower of your blog - you make for such an interesting read, and I found you on Stash Manicure:)

I am a new follower but I can say that this is YOUR blog so be you. I think you must have so many people following it because they like what you write and how you do it. Keep it to what it is meant to be an online journal that you are nice enough to share with the world.
Maria
PS - I looked around on it and I like what I see you have done so far!

I think your blog is great! I am fairly new to "blogland" and to quilting for that matter, and your blog was one of the first I started to follow regularly. I enjoy all your pictures, and your sharing some stories of your life as well. You are very real.
I have learned soooo much! Not only amazing ideas and techniques, but that you that also share mistakes and can laugh at them. I have become more confident just realizing that I can learn from and laugh at my beginner mistakes as well!
Also my daughter's name is Kara (with a K) but it made me feel like I had a connection! :)
Keep up the good work, you are certainly an inspiration for us beginners!
