Sunday Night Concert

Jut got back from the Martina McBride concert. OMG!! It was awesome. Martina was wonderful and cried through two songs. I love her gut level music. Daughter's Eyes, and Concrete Angel both really get to me. And Independance Day is what I remember blasting when I got sole custody of DD. Her music is so loving and real.
Emerson Drive was one of the opening acts and they were also fantastic. I love the concerts we've been getting since the John Labbatt Center opened up a few years ago.
It's a hard call between Martina and the Brad Paisley concert in September for my all time favorite concert. Both were fantastic and had me up dancing through out.
I'm so wiped out now so off to bed but I had to share how amazing music can be.

What I should be doing?

I'm reeling from all the sickness going around here. Hubby went down, and went down hard, Thursday. DD finally went back to school, well daycare, on Friday. And I'm still feeling the effects of this latest round.
Sooooo....this is what my sewing machine looks like right now, it's covered with my All you need is love thingy. I have to finish the small appliqued hearts but really just don't feel like it lol.
My sewing table is a disaster...well, most of our apartment is too, but oh well. It's clean if not neat.

Go Bama, Roll Tide

I thought I'd post a picture of the pillow I made hubby. He is a massive Alabama Crimson Tide fan. Well for football anyway. It's the homestate Tarheels for basketball. Anyhoo, I found this fabric over a year ago but made the pillow last month for him.

To give you an idea of the size, hubby is 6'6''.

I'm hoping to work on the sashing and cornerstones for the Lillibet's Garden BOM

Way ahead of myself

I've not been feeling well this past week and don't seem to be getting any better. I was up late last night with the little one and decided to raid my charm packs and make something simple to give me some sense of accomplishment.
I picked the All you need is love, from moda.
What would this innocent charm pack turn into?

Hmm...some yummy colours...

Get the cutter out...Don't you just love the pink?
Well lets start simply...

Add a border...

And get really tired. I'll save the rest for later. I'm going to try appliqueing hearts from the remaining fabrics. I'm not super comfortable with applique, especially anything but fusible. So this will be a learning experience. Hopefully.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone.

My baby girl was away with biodad this weekend but was brought home early because she's one sick chick. She's got the flu I think so we'll see how the next few days go.

Here she is. Isn't she a sweetie?

What Flower are you?

I am a

What Flower
Are You?

"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets in the way of what other people think. You are proud of yourself and your accomplishments and you enjoy letting people know that."

I don't even know what this flower is but it is pretty. I kinda hoped for a daisy or sunflower, my two fav fleurs.

Late Night

I had a late night last night. I got to sewing and remembered I had some baggies filled with cut pieces for my Moda U quilt, the one that used the Allspice Tapestery bundle from Fig Tree Quilts, which is my favorite designer. Joanna has lovely lines, and her patterns are fun too. It was fun but I don't tend to sew too much until after DD has gone to bed, which was around 8 last night, and I didn't start until about 9:30. I finished about 12:30.

I also started a BOM from the Quiltery, it's called Lillibet's Garden. It should be very pretty. The only thing I'm concerned about is the cream is a white from the block I have received but the cornerstones and sashing are still a cream/beige.
I'll just have to wait and see. This quilt has a large amount of applique, which I'm still not horribly comfortable with. But it will be a good experience.

Chair/ladder/ironing board

So I decided to take and post the pictures of my nifty chair. And the flimsy of the Decadant Victorian table topper.

I got this at a craft show one year. I wish I could find another.

Laziness

So I was a good girl and did some piecing on my Decandant Victorian table topper last night but just got too lazy to haul out the iron and ironing board, or to flip DD's chair over which has an ironing board on the back.
I'm going to have to get a picture of it because that is one cute chair. It also flips fully over to be a little step ladder. The cover is ugly but I haven't hated it enough to figure out how to make a new one. Soon I think. I think fabric from this line would go really well in my apartmemt, which is painted in the same grey undertone colours.

I went to the chiropracter this morning, which I have to do a couple times a week to help me keep mobile, and my upper back was all out of whack. Which I knew as it was hurting all weekend. But now that I am all straight for a few days maybe I'll take the little one bowling tonight after JK. She loves going, no scratch that she Loves, loves, loves it. She really is a cutie pie. I'll have to get some more pics of her. I just realized I don't have any ones newer than January. Yes I'm that kind of mom. Always with the camera. LOL. She'll hate it as she gets to be a teen but for now she loves being the star.

Yeah I finally did it!

I finally decided to try my hand at blogging. I enjoy reading so many others great blogs that I decided to give it a try.
Maybe it will get me motivated to finish, at least the flimsy part, of my quilts. You see I am the Queen of Procrastination and also of the unfinished.
Part of it is the fibromyalgia and part is having a special 4 year old DD, and part is the pair of killer Maltese boys I have.
So here goes nothing and I hope that I manage to keep this up.
Please, please, leave me a message if you stumble across my humble blog. I am a hopeless people pleaser and would be overjoyed if you like anything you see.

Talk to everyone later.
