A note about style

I don't really have a "style". I like all sorts of colours, patterns, scale, and size.
It's the same with music, I like a lot of genres.

That is not to say I don't have things I don't like, but even most of those 90% I can appreciate, I just wouldn't want living in my house.

Random Moda fabric picture because what's a post without a picture?

When it comes to fabrics I like different styles there too. I like the deep clear colours, bolds, pastels, muted, soft, shabby chic, batiks, and whatever you'd call Basic Grey. I love Fig Tree, Sweetwater and French General, Mark Lipinski, Lila Tueller, My Sister and Me, American Jane....ok I thought I'd find an end to the list before now so I'll just stop now.

So what about you? Do you have a style? Or are you as eclectic as me? If you are , how do you decide what to buy?

Oh and the top is done for the 3 quilt out of all that Prayer Flag. I should have it quilted ad ready for a tutorial Monday!

I love the tumbler quilt....that's what it is okay? I think it's Make Life, right? I also love Sweetwater!!! I see your PURE charm pack!! OOHHH, LOVE IT!! I like what I see....cival war, not really my style but if I see something I like, I will get it....same with music, just like you...a itty bitty bit of country, lil R&B, some rap, pop, but most of all, I am a child of the 80's!!!!! Yeah baby....Have a great day!!

Hey Cara,
I loved dark aged and repros the best. However with that said...it has been fun for me to work with fabrics I normally wouldn't purchase when I get the charms and make Schnibbles. It gives me a chance to purchase the line of fabric and not a huge investment.

I always thought I was a traditional girl but with the new fresh lines that have been coming out, I find myself not so much changing my style as expanding it:)Now I may have to change some of my rooms to accomadate those "new" styles!LOL!

Therein lies the problem...my huge stash gets huger because I love all colors, styles and textures. So depending on the day or the inspiration I could be into reproductions or a major bright floral. It would be easier if I wasn't, but it also opens me up to more opportunity to be inspired by others.

Ever evolving! That's my style (or lack of). I tend to like the Shabby Chic look but I have to play with the other fabrics too. I can't resist the Retro and even Kaffe fabrics. They're all just so much fun!

I would say I'm Eclectic like you. I like lots of different fabrics, 30's, Kansas Troubles, Sweetwater, Fig Tree, Cotton Blossoms, Minnick & Simpson - Heck all things Moda. Moda fabrics are my favorites My least favorite would be Batiks. I love your picture.

I think about 'my' style often, Cara. I'm not sure I really have a style because I seem to like it ALL. LOL About the only thing I seem to avoid is Batiks - just not "my" style. LOL

My quilts don't match my home either - I like the variety.

I don't know if I have an actual style. I love all fabric. The more colourful the better.

Just like you, I have so many different types of styles. Since I have 2 boys and hubby, they like the more manly look but I also love the fresh pretty looks too! It is so easy to get carried away lately. So many great new lines out! I love them all.

I am a little off center (as most quilters are) but I am pretty predictable as all of my quilting friends say. They continually tell me to think outside of my comfort zone. I'm getting better about branching out into the "unknown" but I still spend most of my time buying my predictable fabric :) As far as music I can listedn to just about anything, country being on the top of the list. I do like just about anything from the 40s to now :)

Hi Cara,
I've been playing catch-up with all the CGQC and I really like the fabrics you've been working with. There's something special about Moda fabric-I love the hand of it. I can just tell what it is without anyone telling me.
Can't wait to see the new creations.
