Oops

So I was thinking that Madeline needed some more black. A girl can never have too much black. Unless I'm the one applying it apparently. Exhibit A:

I somehow managed to both stretch and shrink my flimsy.

But in the interest of experiments what do you think of the second line of trim?

Looks good, minus the issues. Don't you think? Honest answers please.

A close-up.

I'm going to have to pull off the trim and try to re-apply.  : (
Which means I'm going to have to try and actually find my nice Clover seam ripper which seems to have run away. I think it decided it was overworked.

Cara, I think the single black pops the center. The double pops the gray inner border. Both look good.

I like the two lines, but I'm sorry for your troubles. It will work out, you'll see! It is a good lookin' oops to me.

I like the two lines of trim myself. I think it makes the quilt look more balanced. Madeline looks great! :0)

I am working on my Schnibbles too. I would add the second row of black. I also am having a bit of trouble making everything match perfectly. I ripped out a couple seems and hopefully it will all come together.

I am not a fan of black borders, so my answer may be a bit biased. I guess I would go for only one inner border.

Sorry, I think it detracts from your beautiful top... would just black binding work?

Cara, it looks so pretty. I like the two rows of black. I agree with Terry, it balances with the black star.

Yes, I really like the double black rick rack! You might have better luck with the shrinking/stretching issue if you add the rick rack after you've quilted it--it will be more stable then. I love the way it's turning out.

Cara, I think it looks great. Sorry for the trouble it is causing you. I think the black is a good accent for the rest of the quilt. I'm sure however you finish it, it will look good. Enjoy your weekend.

Cara,
I really like the addition of the black trim- it adds nice framing to your center. It is a lovely quilt that you are going to love when you finish it.
Regards,
Anna
